Three Held After Finglas Weapons Raid

Three men have been arrested and a cache of arms recovered after a raid on a house in Finglas, Dublin.

Officers from the Gardaí National Drug Unit and Organised Crime Unit discovered 600 rounds of ammunition and a handgun silencer and arrested the three people in an apartment in Premier Square, Finglas yesterday evening.

The three people - two females aged 27 and 30 years and a male of 30years - were arrested and are being detained in Finglas Garda station.

Gardaí said the ammunition was suitable for four handguns and the silencer is believed to be for a glock magazine.

The news comes after Police in Co Tyrone launched an appeal for information after shots were fired at a house in Dungannon last night.

Shortly after 10pm the volley of shots were fired through the back door of a house in the Lisnahull Gardens area of the town.

No one was injured in the attack.

A PSNI spokeswoman said a number of items have been removed from the house for further investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police in Dungannon.
