More Arrests Over Fatal Limerick Shooting

Eight people are now being questioned by Gardaí over the fatal shooting of a man in Co Limerick on Tuesday night.

The victim - named in reports as Danny Fitzgerald, 24 - was shot a number of times on the main Tipperary Road outside Limerick city around 9.30pm on Tuesday.

Four people - three women and a man - were arrested in a follow-up operation after the shooting, during which a house close to the scene was searched.

A second man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and three other men were arrested later, bringing the total number of people arrested to eight.

The scene of the shooting remains sealed off.

Gardaí said that they are keeping an open mind about the motive for the killing and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Two Held Over Attempted Shooting Attack Released
Two men arrested in connection with an attempted shooting attack in Dublin have been released without charge. The incident occurred at a car park next to the Islandbridge Court Apartments on 1 November. A Honda Civic rammed another car at the scene. Two occupants in the car then ran after the driver of the other vehicle and fired a number of shots.

Arrests Follow Limerick Death
Gardaí are questioning five people following the fatal shooting of a man in Co Limerick on Tuesday night, The 25-year-old was shot dead on the main Tipperary Road outside Limerick city around 9.30pm. It is understood that the man was shot several times. He was taken to Mid-Western Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

Arrests Follow Deadly Double Shooting
Four people are in custody today as Gardai at Pearse Street station investigating the fatal shooting at Pearse House on Sunday continue to probe the deadly incident. Three males and one female were arrested in Dublin overnight and are currently detained at City Centre Garda Stations under Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007.
