Appeal Launched Over Dublin 'Serious' Assault
An appeal has been launched into a Dublin assault that left a man in his 30s needing treatment for serious head injuries.
Gardai at Pearse Street, Dublin, are investigating the assault, which occurred at approximately 10pm on the night of Saturday 14 November, and they have called for the public's assistance into the case.
The assault occurred on the night of the Ireland versus France soccer match at Croke Park.
The incident took place at a car park on Werburgh Street in Dublin. The man in his late 30’s received head injuries in the course of the incident and was taken to St James’ Hospital. He was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital.
Gardai are anxious to speak to taxi drivers who were in either the Werburg Sreet, Castle Street, Bride Street or Christchurch area between 9.30pm and 10.30pm who may have witnessed the incident. They are asking anyone who may have information to contact the incident room at Pearse Street Garda Station at 01 6669000, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
Meanwhile, Gardai in the Arklow area of County Wicklow investigating the murder of John Deasy are renewing their appeal for information.
They are particularly interested in establishing the identity of a male fitting the following description: he is believed to be up to 6’4" in height, of thin athletic build, with a non descript accent.
He was wearing a light blue cotton mask, and a black or dark coloured waist length shiny jacket or wind sheeter.
Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact Arklow Garda Station on 0404-32304, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in County Limerick. A man in his 50s was seriously injured in the incident which occurred in Castleroy on Monday morning. A man has been arrested after cannabis plants were seized by gardaí in Limerick. The plants are believed to be worth an estimated street value of €115,000. Gardaí carried out the planned search at a house in Bruff on Monday. The man, in his 20s, is being detained at Bruff Garda Station.

Gardai are investigating a robbery which in Limerick this morning on Wednesday morning. A man entered a hotel on Dock Road and threatened the receptionist with a syringe. He fled the scene with a cash box. Gardai pursued the man along Windmill Apartments where he was arrested. The 30 year old is currently being held at Henry Street Garda Station.

€525,000 Of Heroin Seized In Dublin
A man and a woman have been arrested after heroin, worth an estimated €525,000, was seized in Dublin. Seven blocks of the drug were found during the search of a house at Swan Grove on Wednesday night. The woman has been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP. The man is being held at Kevin Street Garda station.
