Teen Car Crash Victim Named

Gardai in Bailieboro investigating a fatal collision on the Tuesday in Cootehill have named the deceased as Nicola Roberts, 19-years-old, from Ballinagh, County Cavan.

Gardai at Coothill are still investigating the fatal crash that occurred at approximately 10.30pm on Tuesday night on the R188 at Corravahan, Drung, Coothill, Cavan.

Two cars were involved in the collision, with both cars travelling in the same direction going from Coothill to Cavan.

One of the cars had one occupant and the other had three.

Following the collision, all four people were taken to Cavan General Hospital where the 19-year-old female back seat passenger of one of the cars later died.

One female has since been released from hospital, while a second female and a male remain in hospital with injuries.

The investigating Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of the collision at approximately 10.30pm to contact them at Bailieboro Garda Station (042-9694570), the Garda Confidential Line (1800 666 111), or any Garda station.

Meanwhile, Gardai in Dublin have advised motorists that an inbound section of the Malahide Road will be closed for much of the morning due to a road crash.

The inbound lane closure is at the junction of Collins Avenue East and the Malahide Road near Donnycarney church.

A man is in a critical condition following the incident.

He was walking near Donnycarney Church when he was hit by a car just after 1.15am.

Dunleer Crash Victims Named
The woman and son killed in County Louth yesterday after their car collided with a wall have been named. Leontina Covaci (35 years) and Ezacheal Covaci (9 years) of Rivervale Grove, Dunleer, Co. Louth, died at around 2.30pm along the old M1, south of Castlebellingham.
