Elton Delays Dublin Show
Elton John has gone breaking his Irish fans' hearts by postponing his Dublin appearance, scheduled for tomorrow.
The star's management announced today that Elton John's concert at the O2, Dublin this Friday 30th October has been postponed due to illness.
It is now the third show the performer has cancelled on short notice as he continues to recover from the flu.
The 62-year-old already called off a Friday show at Sheffield Arena in central England along with a Saturday show at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.
A statement from management said Elton's symptoms had not improved significantly enough for Doctors to allow him to perform.
A spokesman for Elton John said: "He is bitterly disappointed not to playing Dublin, he had picked Dublin to close the Red Piano worldwide, because of the great warmth of the people and the great concerts he had in the city over many years, he is hoping to reschedule the dates in the very near future"
Aiken Promotions are in talks to try and re-schedule the O2, Dublin concert for a suitable and available date in December 2009.
Ticket holders have been told to hang on to their stubs and await an announcement on Monday for possible make-up shows or a refund.
