Figures Show 6.4% Increase In Dublin Rents
A 6.4% rise in rents in Dublin has been recorded in the past year, figures from the Economic and Social Research Institute and the Private Residential Tenancies Board have revealed.
The findings are based on actual rents paid and not those asked for by landlords.
The figures also show that rents outside the capital have fallen by 0.2%.

The property website Daft.ie’s latest rental report shows house rents have hit a new all-time-high. The report shows that over the last year, rents have increased by 11.9% and the rent inflation is now at its highest level since the Daft Report was started in 2002.

CSO Figures Show Crime Figures Down Almost Across The Board
Newly published figures from the Central Statistics Agency have revealed the crime figures in all but two groupings have fallen from April to June, when compared to the same period last year. There was a year-on-year fall of 7.9% for sexual offences and a 10.2% fall in attempts or threats to murder, assaults, harassments and related offences.

Homeless Numbers Increase In South Dublin
The number of people registered as homeless in south Dublin has risen by 60% since January this year. Sinn Féin is calling on the council to acquire more homes after the number of homeless people increased from 274 in January to 439 in October. Housing spokesperson Eoin Ó Broin TD described the figures as "shocking".
