Appeal Follows Fatal Dublin Shooting

An appeal for information in the fatal shooting of a man in Dublin has been launched by Gardaí.

The call for witnesses comes as officers at Blanchardstown investigate the fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 8.30pm on Friday outside a shop at Parslickstown, Mulhuddart, Dublin.

During the incident, a male in his 20s was shot a number of times in the upper body. The injured man was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead.

Gardai have since appealed to any members of the public that may have been in the area, or surrounding areas before and after the shooting and may have witnesses the incident or be in a position to assist the Garda.

Investigating officers say they are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen a male described as wearing dark clothing running from the Centrepoint shop Parslickstown where he may have got into a waiting car.

In addition Gardai wish to appeal for information in relation to two cars that were discovered burned out at approximately 9.30pm on the night of the shooting.

The first was a black Toyota Landcruser which was found at Raynestown outside of Dunshaughlin and the second is a red VW Golf which was found at Valley Park Drive in Finglas.

While gardai are not linking either of these cars directly with the incident they are keen to speak to anyone that may have information relating to their movement.

Anyone who can assist or who may have information relating to the shooting is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 – 6667000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
