Man Held In Peter Gunn Murder Probe

Gardaí investigating a murder have arrested a man in connection with the case.

The man - who is in his 30s - was held this morning and is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Finglas Garda station in the probe in the killing of Peter Gunn.

His body was found on the 15th of January this year at Dunsoghly Lane, The Ward, Co Dublin.

At the time, gardaí said they wanted anyone that may have seen Peter Gunn in the Summerhill area on the 4th of January 2009 or since then, to contact them.

In particular, any taxis drivers that may have been in the area and who might have carried or seen Mr Gunn were being sought.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Limerick Man Dies After Assault In Home
A 48-year-old man has died as a result of serious injuries he received in his own home after a serious assault. Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the attack during which, Limerick man Joe O'Donnell, 48, of Hyde Road, suffered serious head wounds in the early hours of Friday morning.
