Republican Duffy Will Not Contest Elections
The family of Massereene murder accused Colin Duffy has said he will not stand in the forthcoming European elections.
At an outdoor rally in his home town of Lurgan, Mr Duffy's daughter Caitriona said manpower and financial constraints had prompted their decision not to contest an MEP seat.
Around 200 people, and member of the media, gathered at the housing estate after local council officials refused permission to stage the event in a nearby community centre.
Mr Duffy, a prominent republican, is accused of the double murder of two soldiers at an Antrim army barracks in March.
The accused's brother Paul said a 'Justice for Colin Duffy' campaign is to be launched.
Campaign organisers will write to all of Northern Ireland's nationalist European election candidates calling for their support.
Relatives said if any candidate refused to endorse the campaign they could face a boycott from Duffy's supporters.
Paul Duffy said: "We advise our supporters not to vote for any candidates who refuse to fully endorse our family's position in relation to our key objectives."

Ireland's GDP To Grow In 2015 - ESRI
Ireland's GDP is expected to grow 6% in 2015, according to the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI). In its Quarterly Economic Commentary, the think tank also forecasted a 4.5% growth in the economy for 2016. Declines in unemployment are also expected, with a fall to 9% by the end of 2015 and 8% by the end of 2016.

Fatal Fall Firm 'Had Statutory Documents'
The tragic death of a Monaghan woman who fell into an unprotected light well was recalled last week in court. The construction company involved was fined €10,000 for a breach of legislation after the elderly woman died when she fell off an un-protected wall at Gallagher's Hotel, Letterkenny.

Double British Army Murder Trial Opens
The trial of two men accused of murdering soldiers at Massereene barracks in 2009 is due to begin at Antrim Crown Court. After long delays and legal arguments the two NI men who are accused of killing Royal Engineers' Sappers Mark Quinsey and Patrick Azimkhar - who were shot dead on 7 March 2009 - are for the dock today.
