Boyzone's Keith Runs Into Trouble

The well known Boyzone singer Keith Duffy has undergone an emergency operation - just two days after completing the London Marathon.

The 34-year-old is making a good recovery after the procedure to correct a double hernia, and will be well enough for the start of the re-formed band's tour, beginning on 25 May. Duffy, who has also appeared in TV soap, Coronation Street as Ciaran McCarthy, suffered stomach pains during Sunday's race.

Fellow Boyzone member, Ronan Keating, also ran the marathon and while Duffy completed the course in three hours and fifty-minutes, Keating following on in four hours and fifteen.

Duffy was treated in a Dublin hospital and has been advised to rest following his surgery.

Ireland's GDP To Grow In 2015 - ESRI
Ireland's GDP is expected to grow 6% in 2015, according to the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI). In its Quarterly Economic Commentary, the think tank also forecasted a 4.5% growth in the economy for 2016. Declines in unemployment are also expected, with a fall to 9% by the end of 2015 and 8% by the end of 2016.
