Gardaí Appeal Following Bookies Robbery

Gardai at Harcourt Terrace are investigating a robbery at Ladbrokes on Camden St on Monday and have appealed to the public for their assistance.

According to a gardaí spokesman, the suspect offender arrived in a red old style Toyota or Nissan taxi at about 4.30pm, which parked on Pleasant St while the suspect crossed Camden St, entered Ladbrokes and did the robbery.

The suspect then went back to the waiting taxi, which drove along Pleasant Street and turned right onto Heythesbury Street towards Kevin Street.

The suspect is described as being between 5’8’’ and 5’9’’ in height wearing light blue jeans, a blue jacket with the hood up on his head and white runners. He was carrying a small dark coloured bag. He was in his late 20’s.

It is believed that the driver of this taxi is unaware of what had happened.

Gardai are appealing for this taxi driver to come forward and also for any other person in the Camden Street/Pleasant Street area around 4.30pm on Monday to contact Harcourt Terrace Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Telephone line.
