Dissident Republican Accused To Appear In Court

Three of the men arrested on Sunday in relation to dissident republican and criminal activity are to appear before the Special Criminal Court, Green Street, this evening.

Yesterday, Gardaí in Dublin announced they had made five arrests in connection with an investigation into dissident republicans in the capital.

Officers involved in the investigation detained a total of four men and one woman. Four of those arrested are aged in their 20s and one male is in his 60s.

According to a Gardaí spokesman today, the female has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions with regards to her detention, while the fifth man remains in custody.

Síochána’s Special Detective Unit arrested the five people in Dublin city on Sunday night under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Gardaí attached to the Special Detective Unit arrested the man in Dublin on Wednesday morning. The man was detained at Irishtown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.

Garda Granted More Time To Question Limerick MC Murder Suspects
Gardaí investigating the murder of a man outside a motorcycle club in Limerick, have been granted more time to question three men. A special sitting of Limerick District Court granted garda more time to question a 27-year-old man and two me aged in their 40s, arrested on Saturday in connection with the murder.

Four Girls In Hospital After Aerosol Explosion
Garda are investigating the circumstances surrounding four girls ending up in hospital after an aerosol exploded in a house in Drogheda on Sunday. The girls are being treated in hospital, two in Crumlin's children's hospital and two in Tallaght, following the incident. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
