Two Escape Injury Following Driving Gun Attack

Gardai at Finglas are investigating a shooting at Hampton Wood Road, Fingla at 11.30am on Saturday.

Two males travelling in a car were fired upon by the male passanger of a second car, a blue Chevrolet Lacetti Estate, forcing it to stop. No injuries were received in the incident while the Chevrolet was found burned out on St. Margarets Road a short time later.

Gardai are particularly keen to trace the Blue Chevrolet Lacetti estate type car's movements. The 06 WD 2654 registered vehicle was was stolen in Howth, Co. Dublin on September 27, and Gardaí believe it may have been parked or used in the intervening period. Anyone that may have seen this car parked, being used or that may be in a position to assist the Gardai with their enquiries is asked to contact the Gardai at Finglas Garda station 01-6667500, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

In a separate unrelated search on a house yesterday evening at approximately 6.30pm, Gardai from the Organised Crime Unit arrested a 21 year old male in the Dunsink area of Finglas following the discovery of a 9mm handgun, 6 rounds of ammunition and approximately €3,000 worth of cocaine.

He is currently detained at Blanchardstowm Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be detained for up to a maximun period of 72 hours.

Man Face 18 Charges Of Indecent Assault
A 65-year-old man has appeared in court charged 18 counts of indecently assaulting two boys in a Westmeath primary school 18 years ago. Brother Thomas McCarry, with an address at Clareville, Finglas Road, Glasnevin faces charges relating to two separate boys at the CBS primary school in Mullingar 1984 and 1985.

Fatal Shooting In Finglas
An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a fatal shooting in the Finglas area of Dublin. Gardai in Finglas said they are investigating the fatal shooting that occurred inside a public house on Barry Road, Finglas at approximately 1am on Wednesday. During the incident, a lone gunman entered the public house and shot a male in his 30’s.
