Body Recovered From River Corrib
Rescuers have recovered from a body from a river near Galway.
The discovery followed searches after a man was seen entering the River Corrib in Galway on Sunday.
After the reports that a man was seen entering the water in the Dangan area of the city, a major search operation was mounted, involving the Shannon-based coastguard helicopter, the Garda helicopter, the Lough Corrib Search and Rescue team and local gardaí.
Garda divers were also called in to assist with the search. The operation was called off after nightfall, but a body was recovered shortly after the search recommenced at first light this morning.
Gardaí have yet to release any detail surrounding the circumstances of the man's death.

River Searches Carried Out For Missing Man
Garda sub aqua divers and members of Kilkenny river rescue have carried out a search of the River Nore in Co Kilkenny for a 33-year-old man. It is understood that the man was walking along the river bank with a group of friends at about 01:30 on Sunday morning when he entered the water.

Body Recovered From Lake In Co Cavan
Gardaí in Co Cavan are still trying to identify a body recovered from a lake on Saturday. The body was recovered from Lough Ramor, close to Virginia, which has been the site of ongoing searches for missing 37-year-old Joseph Whelan who has been missing for two weeks.

Sea Searches Stepped Up Ahead Of Bad Weather
Sea searches for the body of Barry Davis Ryan are expected to intensify today ahead of deteriorating weather conditions. Divers have been searching for Mr Ryan's body since 30 June, when he, his father and his girlfriends, Niamh O'Connor lost their lives in the sea off the Beacon.

Body Found In Co Donegal
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Drowned Teen's Body Recovered
The body of Sean McNair, 17, from Creggan in the North was found on Sunday - eight days after he drowned in Lough Swilly, Co Donegal. The body was recovered during searches after the 17-year-old went missing eight days ago after he went into the water at Rathmullen Pier.
