Aer Lingus Flight Forced To Return To Dublin Airport
An Aer Lingus flight was forced to return to Dublin Airport 90 minutes into its journey to Malaga after an undisclosed problem on board the aircraft.
During the flight to southern Spain the pilot took the decision to turn around.
The plane landed safety at Dublin airport although emergency services were deployed as a precaution.
Last year a bomb threat delayed an Aer Lingus flght from Malaga to Dublin but was later declared as a hoax.
This August, the UK Foreign Office warned of a 'high threat' from terrorism in Spain after a number of small explosions caused disruption near the popular resorts of Torremolinos and Benalmadena.

A bomb hoax at Dublin Airport prompted police to request handwriting samples from 223 passengers and nine members of the flight crew on an Aer Lingus plane, it has been revealed. A major security operation was mounted on Saturday morning following the discovery of a note claiming a bomb was on board.

DAA SIPTU Members Vote For Strike Action
SIPTU members of the Dublin Airport Authority have voted in favour if industrial action in a dispute over their pension scheme. The long-running dispute surrounds a deficit of around €780m in the Irish Aviation Superannuation Scheme, which covers workers in the DAA and Aer Lingus.

SIPTU Considers Timing And Nature Of Aer Lingus Action
SIPTU officials are to meet to decide on the timing and form of industrial action at Aer Lingus. It follows the breakdown of talks on the deficit in the joint pension scheme at the airline and the Dublin Airport Authority. The Labour Relations Commission adjourned the discussions, involving management and unions, indefinitely.

Trade union Siptu has warned that industrial action at Aer Lingus now seems “highly likely”, in an ongoing dispute over pensions. Siptu said efforts to resolve the dispute over the €748 million deficit in the pension scheme at Aer Lingus and the Dublin Airport Authority ended in disarray at the Labour Relations Commission on Thursday night.
