Dublin Teen Still 'Missing' In Spain

The search for a Dublin teenager - who originally left Clarehall in the Irish capital to live in Spain's Costa del Sol in 2004 - to be with her mum Audrey, 39, after she split with dad Chris, is still continuing.

Amy Fitzpatrick disappeared on the evening of New Year's Day at approximately 10pm when she left a friend's house in the tourist resort of Riviera Del Sol to take the 10 minute walk to her house.

Amy turned 16 in February this year and is described as having brown hair, blue eyes and a pale complexion.

She had no money, phone or passport.

According to her dad, Chris Fitzpatrick, this week she will be 34-weeks missing.

He said that he now needs to raise funds to hire a private detective - as in the case of missing Maddie McCann in Portugal - to help with the search for Amy.

Meanwhile, as the Civil Guard continue their investigations in the case, Mrs Fitzpatrick's partner, Dave Mahon, has been in Tangiers, across the Strait of Gibraltar in Morocco, handing out photos and posters of the missing teenager.

The family has previously done the same on the Costa Blanca.
