IT Company Announces Jobs Increase For New Headquarters

A Dublin-based IT company has announced the creation of 15 new high-tech jobs at its new headquarters base in the capital.

Typetec, which currently employs 52 people at its Ballymount offices in Dublin, is a prepress and IT managed services company. Established in 1982, the company reported a €15.9 million turnover in 2007.

Announing the new jobs, Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Mary Coughlan, said: "High-tech jobs, such as those being created today by Typetec, are the best source of future growth in the Irish workforce. As we move towards a fully knowledge-based economy, it is vital that we continue to expand our high-tech services industry."

A small number of the new positions have already been filed, with the majority of the new posts to be taken up over the next year. The positions will increase the company's employee count by almost a third.
