Arrested Follows Limerick Bank Robbery

A man has been arrested following a bank robbery in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick on Monday morning.

Three males wearing florescent jackets entered the Bank of Ireland branch on Lord Edward Street in Kilmallock at around 11.10am, threatening staff using an as yet unknown implement. Gardaí identified the weapon, but do not believe it to be a firearm.

A middle-aged man was arrested shortly before 2pm and taken for questioning to Bruff Garda Station.

During the robbery, an unspecified sum of cash was stolen before the gang escaped in a red hatchback with yellow registration plates in the direction of Kilfinane.

Gardaí arrested the man in the Martinstown area of Co. Limerick and Gardaí believe they have also recovered the vehicle that was used by the gang.

Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.

Four Charged In Connection With Post Office Robbery
Four people have appeared in court charged in connection with a post office robbery in Clogherhead, Co Louth. Three men, one armed with a firearm, entered a post office and threatened staff on 03 May. The suspects fled the scene with a large amount of cash.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.
