Will Dustin Be A Eurovision Turkey?

Dustin the Turkey is getting prepared to stuff the competition as the Eurovision song contest semi-final kicks off on Tuesday night.

The loud-beaked puppet will be performing his song, Irlande Douze Pointe, in Belgrade.

Dustin’s song has already sparked controversy over its satirical lyrics, which include references to Terry Wogan's wig, and a description of the much-maligned song writing competition as full of "the bad" and "the sad".

A "turkey vulture" with a strong Dublin accent, the manic, and recalcitrant Dustin is voiced by Johnny Morrison, brother to the creators of Dustin's puppet forerunners, Zig and Zag.

He joined the show with Zig and Zag in 1990 but remained with the show after their 1993 departure.

Zig and Zag had their own venture into pop stardom with the single Them Girls, which peaked at No.4 in the British singles charts at Christmas 1994.

Dustin will be hoping to clinch a place in this weekend's final and become the eighth Irish winner of the competition.....Dana eat your heart out!
