Woman's Body Discovered In Athlone House

A woman's body has been found in a house in Athlone.

The discovery was made just after 10am this morning at the rented house in the Valley Court area, off the Dublin Road. It is understood the woman was in her late 40s.

The scene is currently sealed off while a Garda investigation is taking place to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

The State Pathologist's Office has also been notified
