Three Deaths Under Investigation

Police are investigating two separate incidents that have resulted in three deaths.

An elderly couple have been found dead at their home in Co Roscommon this morning and a man from Co Kerry has died from head injuries in hospital.

The pensioners' bodies were discovered in the early hours in Knockriver, near Boyle.

Gardai called to the house after being informed that the 67-year-old man and 75-year-old woman hadn't been seen for days.

Post mortem examinations are due to carried out this afternoon to determine the cause of their deaths.

Meanwhile, a post mortem is also due to be carried out on the body of a man who was discovered with severe head injuries at his home in Co Kerry two days ago.

The man died in hospital overnight after being found in the kitchen of his house on Upper Rock Street in Tralee on Monday morning.

It is unclear whether the dead man received the injuries as a result of a fall or if he was assaulted.

Gardai say they are keeping an open mind in relation to their investigation.
