Four Still Held After 'Real IRA' Swoop

Gardaí have released three more of the men arrested in Co Donegal over the weekend as part of an investigation into the Real IRA.

Four reporters with the BBC were among the group of 11, but they were released after questioning.

Today, four men remain in custody as part of the investigation

The BBC has said the journalists were working on a BBC NI current affairs investigation and had full editorial authority under the BBC's guidelines.

A spokesperson said the other parties present were fully aware that they were with BBC journalists.

The arrests were made on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

The men, who are aged between 30 and 48, were initialy held at Burnfoot, Letterkenny and Milford Garda Stations.

They were arrested under Section 30 of the Republic's Offences Against the State Act.

On Saturday, a garda spokesman said the men were being held over "ongoing investigations into paramilitary activity".

Three Arrested In Cork Shooting Investigation
Gardaí in Cork have arrested three men in connection with a shooting in the city on Monday night. According to gardaí a man aged in his 20s was shot a number of times by a man on a motorbike. The victim is being treated at Mercy University Hospital. Gardí have appealed for witnesses to the shooting, or any one with any information, to contact them.

Land Deal Questions For Robinson
Democratic Unionist spin doctors last night scrambled to quash questions raised by the BBC over a land deal involving the North's First Minister, Peter Robinson. The report revealed Mr Robinson and his disgraced politician wife Iris, purchased a small parchment of land close to their home in 2006 from developer Fred Fraser, who is now deceased.
