LG Electronics Keeps Focus On Ireland

LG Electronics (LGE), a leader in consumer electronics and mobile communications, has announced the official opening of its new Dublin office, based in Greenogue Industrial Estate.

The new office, further increases LG's local presence in Ireland, supporting the services of its current network of dealers looking after the company's portfolio of white goods, brown goods, mobile and IT products.

Brian Na president of LGE UK says: "Since we established a local presence in 2006, we've seen an impressive year-on-year growth in all areas of our portfolio. We believe this has been achieved by offering products that appeal to the local market, continued investment in our partner network and our customer care. LG is committed to the long term development and growth of its business in Ireland."

Additionally, the Dublin base will be further supported by key appointments which include a new service manager who will be responsible for developing after sales service such as training and educating dealers.

To coincide with the new Dublin office opening, LG will also be launching a dedicated www.lge.ie website today.

Galway Firm To Create 100 New Jobs
A shed manufacturing company is to create 100 new jobs in Tuam, Co Galway. Steeltech Sheds is to relocate its business from Headford Road in Galway to the former Coca-Cola factory in Tuam and will recruit new staff between now and 2017. The company currently employs 100 staff at bases in Cork, Dublin, Carlow and Athlone.

Minister Announces €1.5bn Social Housing Plan
Minister for the Environment, Community & Local Government, Alan Kelly T.D. has announced housing targets for each local authority area out to 2017. Over €1.5bn will be invested in a combination of building, buying and leasing schemes by local authorities designed to accommodate 25% of those currently on the housing waiting lists in social housing.

300 New Jobs Announced In South Dublin
Three hundred new jobs are to be created in south Dublin by Sage, Europe's second largest technology firm. Welcoming the news, Fine Gael TD for Dublin Rathdown, Olivia Mitchell, said: "By choosing to locate in Sandyford, Sage, Europe's second largest technology company, will join some of the premier tech companies.

New Multi-Denominational Schools To Open In September
Four new multi-denominational primary schools are to open in September, the Department of Education has announced. Educate Together will run the new schools to be based in counties Dublin, Mayo, Meath, and Waterford.
