Job Boost For Laois

Sixty new jobs are to be created by a new Iarnrod Eireann train-care depot in Co Laois.

The facility is to be opened in Portlaoise in March creating 45 jobs, which Iarnrod Eireann said will expand to 60 as the depot expands.

The depot will be used for maintenance of the company's new inter-city fleet.

Greyhound Dispute Settled With New Pay Deal
The 15-week dispute at Greyhound Waste Recycling is to end after workers voted to accept a revised pay settlement. It is understood that of the 78 workers involved in strike action, 52 voted to accept the new pay deal, 15 voted against and one vote was spoiled.

Bus Travellers Face More Disruption
Bus passengers in Dublin faced more travel disruption today as the Dublin Bus dispute continued. More than 100 drivers were involved in a picket at Harristown Bus depot in north Dublin on Monday, in a dispute over two new bus routes - the 4A from Ballymun to Stradbrook and 128 from Clongriffin to Rathmines.
