Temple Bar To Overflow With Traditional Music

More than 200 musicians will descend on Dublin's cultural quarter for the five-day Temple Bar Trad Festival, which begins on January 23.

There will be a host of concerts, pub sessions, kids events and workshops, with the many international visitors expected underlining that Ireland's thriving traditional music scene is in fact helping in "defining the nation in an ever-shrinking world", as Hollywood star, Northern Ireland-born, Stephen Rea has said.

The actor - patron of this year's Temple Bar Trad Festival - said the tradition was alive and vibrant and an important part of Ireland's national heritage.
