Two Now Stable Following Collapses In Mullingar

Two young men are now stable in hospital after collapsing in separate incidents in Mullingar over the weekend.

A family member found a 26-year-old man unconscious at his home in Longford on Saturday afternoon. It is understood that he attended a party on Friday night. He was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar, where his condition has improved from critical to stable.

Another man, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, was found collapsed in a street in Mullingar in the early hours of Sunday morning. He was taken to the intensive care unit at the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore, where his condition has also now improved from critical to stable.

Toxicology tests are being carried out on the two men to see if their illnesses are related to drug abuse.

Gardaí have confirmed that they are investigating both incidents.

Woman's Body Found At House In Co Meath
Gardaí in Co Meath have discovered the body of a woman at a house in Longwood. According to gardaí they discovered the woman's body at around 17:00 on Monday at a house in Edgeworth Court. An injured man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was also found at the scene and is being treated at Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar.

Man Appears In Court Over Gardai Assaults
A 38-year-old Drogheda man has appeared before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court charged in relation to assaults on two gardaí in the early hours of Monday morning. The man was alleged to have assaulted the female gardaí at about 3am on George’s Street, Drogheda, Co Louth.

Motorcyclist Dies Following Crash
A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Tullamore, Co Offaly, on Thursday. The female who was driving the car is currently being treated at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
