Guilty Verdict In Kilkenny Postmaster Murder

A man has been found guilty of murdering a postmaster in Kilkenny during a robbery last year.

Chinese national Shu Shen, 25, from the Old Rectory in New Ross, Co Wexford, had pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 32-year-old Alan Cunniffe, but denied murder.

The court heard that Mr Cunniffe was killed during a robbery at the post office on St John's Green in Kilkenny on December 8 2006.

Shen also admitted stealing more than €13,000 from the post office and being in possession of a firearm with intent to commit robbery.

Shen was found guilty of murder at the Central Criminal Court on Monday and is due to be sentenced on Friday.

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his estranged partner, Rose Patterson. Hadim Kedik was found guilty by a jury of eight men and four women, at the Central Criminal Court.

40-Year-Old Woman Found Guilty Of Husbands Murder
A woman has been found guilty of murdering her husband three and a half years ago. 40-year-old Tanya Doyle of Pairc Gleann Trasna, Aylesbury stabbed Paul Byrne more than 60 times on 4 September 2009. While she admitted killing Mr Byrne, Doyle pleaded not guilty to his murder.

Life Sentence For Man Found Guilty Of Dublin Murder
A Dublin man has been given a life sentence after he was found guilty of shooting dead a father-of-one who sat as a passenger in a parked car. 27-year-old Jonathan Douglas, aka Yuka, had pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to the murder of Aidan Bryne at Drumalee Avenue on February 20th, 2010.
