Charges Follow Wine Warehouse Blaze

Two people have been charged in connection with a fire which badly damaged the Wines Direct warehouse in Mullingar earlier this week.

A 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man have been arrested and are due to appear at Mullingar District Court next week.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

According to reports, it is believed that the fire may have started as a result of fireworks being used in the area.

The blaze at the warehouse on Green Road broke out on Monday evening. No one was injured in the fire, which took more than two hours to bring under control. However, around 60,000 bottles of wine were destroyed.
