Man Released In Injured Baby Case

A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault in Co Cork after a baby suffered serious head injuries, had been released without charge.

Gardaí were contacted after the eight-month-old boy was admitted to Cork University Hospital last month.

The man was arrested in Cork City on Thursday morning, but was released on Thursday night.

Gardaí confirmed that a file will be sent to the DPP and said that the investigation into the case is continuing.

The baby, who was on a life support system, is now reported to be in a serious, but stable, condition in hospital.

Manhunt After Two Stabbed In Cork
Gardaí have launched a manhunt after two people were stabbed at Cork University Hospital. According to reports, it is thought the two men got into a fight with a third man on the ground of the hospital earlier today (23 October). The victims are receiving treatment at the scene, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Man Released Following Dublin Shooting
