Bus Crashes In Westmeath

A bus carrying 27 passengers was involved in a collision with a truck in Co Westmeath on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened on the N6 just outside Moate. It was reported that one driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Earlier on Tuesday eight people were injured in a collision involving a minibus and a car in Co Roscommon.

The accident happened shortly before 9am on the Castlerea Road. The bus, which was taking seven teenagers to the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore, when it collided with a car.

The driver of the car is described as being seriously injured, while the teenagers are said to have suffered minor injuries.
