Galway Consumers Get New Boil Notice

Water users in parts of Galway City have again been issued with a boil water notice.

Residents in the Knockacarra area were instructed to boil all water used for drinking and food preparation.

The notice was issued after E. Coli levels were found to be raised in water samples. The latest boil warning is not related to the previous contamination of the supply with cryptosporidium.

Galway Council said that the contamination was due to infrastructure work and that water supplies are being treated to eradicate the problem.

However, consumers have been instructed to boil water until further notice.
