Kate McCann To Be Formal Suspect

Kate McCann has returned to a Portuguese police station, where she is expected to be declared a formal suspect in the disappearance of her daughter.

A large crowd gathered and shouted at Mrs McCann, 39, as she arrived for further questioning.

Some people were showing their support for Mrs McCann, however there was also jeers from the crowd.

A family spokesman said she is expected to be made an "arguido" or a formal suspect.

It is believed Mrs McCann will face questioning on the results of the DNA tests on samples that were taken from their apartment while they were on holidays.

Mrs McCann looked tired and drawn and she is believed to be very upset.

The McCanns have always denied any part in their daughter's disappearance.

Madeleine, aged 4, disappeared when her parents were having a meal a restaurant close to their apartment on May 3.
