Student Dies At School In Westmeath
A 16-year-old boy has collapsed and died during class at Moate Community School in County Westmeath.
The school has expressed its shock and sadness at the sudden death of fifth year student, Tony Parker.
Emergency services were called to the school just after midday and attempts were made to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement yesterday, Moate Community School described Tony Parker as a "young man of great character and a true gentleman."
The school extended their sympathy to the boy's family.

Govt Criticised Over New School Bus Distance Scheme
Fianna Fáil has criticised the government over changes to the school transport scheme, announced by Bus Éireann. Donegal Deputy Charlie McConalogue claimed that the new scheme will see pupils from the Urris area "forced to relocate from Carndonagh to Buncrana". "This new system is completely senseless.
