Three Arrested After Foiled Robbery

Gardai have reportedly arrested three people following an attempted armed raid on a Securicor van in Dublin on Thursday afternoon.

It is understood that three men, aged 27, 32 and 33, were arrested after they tried to rob the van which was delivering cash to an ATM in Sandyford.

According to reports, no shots were fired during the raid and no-one was injured. It is also understood that no money was stolen.

Gardai are also believed to have recovered a 9mm handgun at the scene.

Appeal As Carlow Woman Reported Missing
Gardaí have appealed for help from the public as they search for a woman reported missing from County Carlow. 22-year-old Anna Reis was last seen in the Granby Row area of Carlow town at around 7.30pm on Sunday night, 07 July. She was wearing dark ripped denim jeans, pink & purple Nike Air Max trainers, a pink, black & white top and a fur jacket.

Naval Divers Recover Two Bodies For Cork City River
Naval Service divers have recovered the bodies of a man and a woman from the River Lee in Cork City. A search of the river was carried out after a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s were reported missing on 04 December. Their deaths are not being treated as suspicious. Post-mortems are due to be carried out today.

Gardaí Investigate Horse Beaten To Death
An investigation has been launched in Co Wicklow after the discovery of the body of a badly beaten horse. A walker reported finding the body in a clearing at Ballymoyle wood, near Kilpatrick, at around 15:15 on Thursday. A local source is quoted by The Irish Times as saying that the horse looked like it had been beaten to death.

Arrests Made Over Arson Attack
As part of the ongoing investigation into the criminal damage of a GoSafe operated Garda safety camera van in Gorey, Co. Wexford, Gardai carried out a number of searches this morning and have arrested three males. Two of these males, who are in their late teens, are currently detained at Wexford Garda Station.

Three Arrested Over Cash Van Robbery
Three people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a cash-in-transit van near Rathfarnham Shopping Centre in Dublin this afternoon. A cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money was taken during the robbery. A man armed with a gun approached a van on Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham, at 12.45pm and demanded the money.
