Seven People Rescued From Dublin Fire

Seven people have been rescued from a fire at an apartment block in Dublin city centre this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4.45am this morning and rescued the people from upstairs windows at the apartments above the Zagloba Bar on Parnell Street.

Fire crews rescued the trapped people from the second and third floors of the building.

The seven people rescued from the fire are now being treated in the Mater hospital for smoke inhalation.

The Dublin Fire Brigade in Phibsboro confirmed that the fire was due to an electrical fault.

Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.
