Major €2.9m Cannabis Seizure by Revenue Officers at Rosslare Europort

Revenue officers operating at Rosslare Europort have intercepted and seized approximately 145 kg of suspected herbal cannabis along with roughly 7.9 kg of suspected cannabis resin. The combined value of the confiscated illegal drugs is estimated to be in excess of €2,947,000.

The detection occurred during a routine profiling operation when officials stopped and inspected an accompanied freight unit. The vehicle had just disembarked a ferry arriving from Dunkirk, France.

A detailed examination of the vehicle was carried out with the aid of Revenue's mobile x-ray scanner, which uncovered the drugs hidden inside the commercial load.
