Staycity Launches Cultural Hub Proposal For Historic Dublin Venue
Staycity Group has announced an open call for Dublin's cultural and creative communities to occupy a significant new space at its aparthotel on Francis Street.
The hospitality group is offering a 353m² ground-floor venue—located on the site of the former Tivoli Theatre—to not-for-profit groups, arts organisations, collectives, and community-focused practitioners. The selected occupants will be granted a three-year residency at a heavily subsidised rent, to be finalised during the selection process.
Situated in the heart of The Liberties, the venue is intended to serve as a dynamic cultural landmark. In addition to the indoor space, which features its own entrance, offices, kitchenette, and capacity for 200 visitors, the offer may include access to an adjacent outdoor courtyard suitable for markets, performances, and public events.
Staycity Group CEO and founder Tom Walsh said: "The Tivoli space on Francis Street offers a unique opportunity for artists, cultural practitioners and community-focused groups to help define a new cultural landmark in the heart of The Liberties." The venue is move-in ready and includes noise-baffling features and loading facilities. Staycity is encouraging creative and diverse proposals for the space, which can operate from 8am to 10pm daily.
"We're deliberately keeping the brief open," Walsh added. "We would like to see ambitious thinking - proposals that create, experiment, rehearse, exhibit, present and perform, while welcoming diverse audiences into the space. Our hope is that the Tivoli space becomes a vibrant focal point and a fresh model of cultural infrastructure rooted in collaboration, innovation and community connection."
Founded in Dublin in 2004, Staycity Group remains headquartered in Dublin 8. The company stated that this initiative is intended to honour the site's long-standing cultural legacy and the firm's own local roots.
"We're proud of our Dublin heritage and very conscious of Tivoli's historic role as a cultural and community touchpoint," Walsh said. "We're excited to see the creative responses this open call will inspire."
Applications are open until 17 May 2026. A two-stage selection process, involving both internal and independent external panellists, is expected to conclude by the end of June. Further details and application guidelines can be found at www.staycity.com/tivoli-space-open-call.
