Fianna Fáil Must 'Immediately Stop' Attack On Media
Fine Gael has called on Fianna Fáil to "immediately stop" their attacks on media scrutiny.
Making the call, Fine Gael party chairman, Martin Heydon, said: "Yesterday, rather than answering questions, the first instinct of a Fianna Fáil representative was to attack media for legitimate scrutiny.
"It is clear from the tetchy response from a number of Fianna Fáil representatives out on the airwaves yesterday that it has come somewhat of a shock to them that the public and the media will rightly scrutinise their policies, or lack thereof.
"For years now, Fianna Fáil have been asleep at the wheel and have taken free reign in pontificating from the side-lines. Now, for the first time in a long time, Fianna Fáil are about to be scrutinised.
"Their lack of well-considered policies and fresh ideas is deafening to say the least. The robust critique and analysis by the media is not something that Fine Gael has ever been afraid of.
"It is simply wrong that the Irish Media is attacked by Fianna Fáil for doing their job. I would respectfully suggest the Fianna Fáil leadership take a moment of self-reflection before attacking our media again."

Tributes have been paid to Donegal Fianna Fáil Councillor Manus Kelly who died while competing at the Donegal International Rally. The motor racing champion, who had won the event for the last three years, was killed after his Hyundai i20 R5 left the road on stage 15 of Sunday's race.

Immediate Action Urged In Driving Licence Issue Delays
Immediate action has been called for to tackle an 8 week delay in the processing of new driving licences. Raising the issue with the Dáil, Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Transport, Tourism and Sport, Timmy Dooley, said that it was unacceptable motorists had to wait so long for their driving licences.

Fianna Fáil demanding spending of €4.35 billion in just six months has been described as "reckless". Fine Gael's Peter Burke has said that the spending demands of taxpayers' funds is solid proof Micheál Martin's party "has not learnt a single lesson from the devastation they caused this county".
