Pair Arrested After Drugs & Drone Seized In Roscommon

Gardaí have arrested two people after disrupting a potential attempt to get drugs into a prison in Castlerea, County Roscommon.

Officers stopped and searched a vehicle at Harristown, which is adjacent to the prison, at around 11am on Thursday morning, 11 April.

This search uncovered a significant haul of items, including two mobile phones, a smartwatch, around 440 tablets, an undisclosed amount of cannabis and a drone, which was in the process of being set up.

A 46-year-old man and 45-year-old woman were arrested at the scene.

One Arrest As Gardai Seize Drugs Worth €100k
A man has been arrested by gardaí after a significant drugs seizure with an estimated street value of €100,000. Officers stopped a car on the Grange Road in Rathfarnham on the afternoon of Saturday 06 April. Upon searching the vehicle they found cannabis worth around €5000. Arrest As Drugs Worth €110k Seized In Co Sligo
A man has been arrested after Gardaí seized drugs worth an estimated €110,000 in County Sligo. During a search of a house in Calry on Tuesday, 09 April, a 4kg bag of cannabis, over 4,000 Xanax tablets and cocaine were discovered. The 30-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to Carrick-on-Shannon station.

Heroin and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €1m, has been recovered in a house search in Ballyfermot on Tuesday. Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.
