Cigarettes, Tobacco And Car Seized In Cork
Cigarettes, tobacco and a car have been seized in an intelligence-led operation by Revenue officers in Cork.
The seizures came following searches, carried out under warrant, of two houses in Cork City. The seized contraband tobacco products have a combined value in excess of €9,400, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €7,500. The brands seized include 'Excellence', 'Gold Classic', 'Richman' and 'Flandria'.
Two Irish men were questioned and investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.

Revenue officers have seized alcohol, cigarettes, cash and a vehicle during an operation in County Cork. During the search of a house near Macroom, Co. Cork, Revenue, assisted by detector dog Harvey, seized a total of 315 litres of alcohol in various stages of production along with the production apparatus, tanks and containers.

The 'Excellence'-branded cigarettes and 'Flandria'-branded tobacco have a retail value in excess of €16,855, representing a loss to the Exchequer of approximately €13,300.
