Irish President Meets Prince Charles In Scotland

Ireland's President Michael D Higgins has travelled to Scotland after an invite from Prince Charles.

The president and his wife Sabina will be joined by Prince Charles and Camilla as they attend celebrations at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire to mark its 10th anniversary.

The house receives around 24,000 visitors every year.

An elderly woman has died in a house fire in Co Wexford. The alarm was raised early this morning, Tuesday 10 December, after a blaze broke out at a house in Davidstown, between Enniscorthy and New Ross. The woman, aged in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a report that shots were fired at a house in L'Derry in the early hours of Tuesday, 10 January. Drugs, Alcohol & Gold Bars Uncovered In Dublin
Gardaí in Dublin have uncovered drugs, alcohol, gold bars and a large amount of cash. A man in his 30s was arrested following a house search in Inchicore on Thursday 05 December. The suspect was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act at Kevin Street Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.

SF To Attend Events During Prince Charles Visit
Sinn Féin representatives are to attend events in Ireland during the visit of Prince Charles and Camilla, the leader of the party has confirmed. Gerry Adams said it will be an opportunity to promote reconciliation and build on the 'good work' done by Martin McGuinness and the Queen.
