Equipment Used For Laundering Fuel Seized In Co Louth

A range of equipment used for laundering fuel has been seized by Revenue Commissioners in Co Louth.

A search was carried out at premises in Ravensdale and approximately 2,500 litres of laundered mineral oil, a fuel dispensing pump, an electricity generator, a large fuel storage tank, a van and four cars, were seized by officers last Friday, 28 July.

The operation was part of Revenue's ongoing work to target and confront shadow economy activity and fuel fraud.

It followed a separate intelligence-led investigation last Thursday which saw Revenue seize 120 kg of illegally imported tobacco in the Dundalk area.
