Investigation Launched Into Stabbing Death Of Three-Year-Old Boy

An investigation has been launched into the death of a three-year-old boy in an incident in south Dublin.

The boy was found with multiple stab wounds at an apartment in the Poddle Park area of Kimmage at about 7pm last night, Monday 10 July.

It is understood that the child was found in the upstairs of the apartment, and that a woman, believed to be the child's mother, was found injured in a downstairs room. She is being treated at St James's Hospital, where her condition is described as serious.

According to reports, gardaí are treating the investigation as a homicide and are said to "have a good idea" of what happened during the incident.

Gardaí in Co Westmeath are appealing to witnesses of a fatal road accident on the Athlone bypass on Sunday afternoon. The remains of Peter and Kevin Moran were found after their mother had the landlord open the apartment Steamboat Quay in the city. Bodies Of Boy, 9, And Man Found
The bodies of two people have been found in Co Sligo. It is understood the victims, a boy aged nine, and a 21-year-old man, were brothers. According to Gardaí, the boy was discovered inside a property at Banada, Tourlestrane, shortly after 7.30pm on Sunday. He was found with stab wounds.

Investigation Launches Into Creche Death
An investigation has been launched into the death of a young boy at a crèche in Castlebridge. Gardaí said that staff found the infant unresponsive on Tuesday. It is understood that crèche staff administered first aid until an ambulance crew arrived and took the boy to Wexford General Hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

An Irishman of pension age is alleged to have been discovered with a huge collection of "sickening" child porn when arrested in Amsterdam. The 68-year-old had arrived on a flight from Bangkok on Sunday morning into Schipol Airport but missed his connecting flight to Dublin.
