Drugs Worth Estimated €250,000 Seized In Limerick City

Drugs worth an estimated €250,000 have been seized during a search operation in Limerick City.

Cannabis herb estimated at around €215,000 was uncovered during the search of a house in the Moyross area of the city, alongside cannabis resin worth an approximate street value of €19,500, and €12,500 of cocaine.

€10,500 in cash was also seized by gardaí during another search of a property in Kileely, Limerick.

A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.

Cannabis Seized In Co Kildare
Gardaí in Co Kildare have seized cannabis worth an estimated €800,000. The find was made during a planned search of a house in Crossmorris on Monday. Officers seized 40kg of cannabis herb in the search. A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the find.

Limerick Gun And Drug Seizure
Gardaí seized a number of guns, a quantity of ammunition and drugs during a five hour search of houses in Limerick city. Around 100 Gardaí swooped on premises in the South Hall area of the city following a gun attack on a patrol car on Sunday night. One man detained during the operation was subsequently released without charge.

Firefighters Attacked During Blaze In Limerick
Fire crew came under attack on Wednesday night while tackling a blaze on the south side of Limerick. Limerick City Council Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three fire appliances and a crew of 12 fire fighters to attend two houses on fire at Salvia Court in Southill at 8.20pm last night.

Major Water Conservation Works Approved In Limerick
The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government has approved Limerick City Council’s proposals to carry out extensive water mains rehabilitation works in the City at an estimated cost of €5.5 million. The Council intends to carry out work to replace 7.168km of watermain at an estimated cost of €5.5 million.
