Bodies Of Family Of Five Discovered In Co Cavan

An investigation has launched after five bodies, all members of the same family, were discovered at a house at Oakdene, Co Cavan.

A man in his 40s, his wife, a woman in her 30's, and their three sons aged 13, 11 and six, were found at a house on Monday morning, 29 August.

Gardaí said their investigation is ongoing however they are not currently looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths.

Reports have suggested the deaths are being treated as a murder-suicide.

A forensic examination of the scene is continuing.

Investigation Launched Into Woman's Death In Cavan
Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was found in a house in Cavan. It is understood that the body of the woman, believed to be in her forties, was discovered in a house just before midnight on Saturday. The body was taken to Cavan General Hospital and the state pathologist was notified.

More than 600 crayfish were found in the Bruskey/Erne River at Killydoon, near Ballinagh, Co Cavan. Preliminary results, using DNA analysis, indicate the cause of the kill is Crayfish Plague, a water-borne disease.

Investigation Launches Following Fatal House Fire In Co Cavan
An investigation has been launched following a fatal house fire in Co Cavan. The blaze was reported in the Church Street area at 2.15pm on Monday. Emergency services attained the scene and woman's body was discovered in the house. She is believed to be aged in her 70's.

Two Arrested Digging Up €1m In Cash
Two men have been arrested after being caught digging up more than €1 million in cash on the outskirts of Limerick. The men were found digging up the money in an area known as Portcrusha, Montpelier, Co. Limerick, on Sunday. It is believed that the money is the proceeds of crime.
