Hungarian Woman In State Care Amid Allegations Of False Imprisonment

A 19-year-old Hungarian woman has been placed in State care after allegations she was falsely imprisoned.

Gardaí have begun an investigation after they visited an address in Tyrrelstown, west Dublin.

According to reports, the woman got in touch with relatives in Hungary, claiming she was being held against her will. Her relatives contacted the local police, who reached out to Garda in Dublin.

Garda subsequently called to the residential property where they found the woman and a 20-year-old man.

The man was arrested, but has since been released without charge. The woman has been placed in State care as Garda investigate the claims. It is understood the woman does not have valid travel documents.

The investigation is ongoing.

An investigation has been launched into the death of a woman in Killygordon, Co Donegal. The body of a woman, aged in her 20s, was discovered at a house in the town in the early hours of this morning, Friday, 04 January. A post-mortem is due to be carried out which will determine the course of the investigation, garda have said.

Man Arrested In Connection With Celbridge Death
A man in his 20s has been arrested after a man was found dead at a house in Co Kildare on Tuesday night. The victim, in his 30s, was found with head injuries at Willowborok Park in Celbridge at around 8.50pm. He was pronounced dead shortly before 10.30pm.

Concerns Over 'Unsafe Care Environment' At Cork University Hospital
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) has raised concerns over an "unsafe care environment" in a number of wards at Cork University Hospital (CUH). Senior management at CUH confirmed last week that there are currently 78 nursing posts vacant in the hospital. Despite this, the hospital is operating at almost full capacity.
