Scene Of Four Day Woodland Fire Continues To Be Monitored

The scene of a woodland fire at Puck's Castle in the Dublin Mountains is continuing to be monitored, Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) have reported.

The fire was first reported at about 4pm on Tuesday of this week and members of DFB have been on site since.

It is understood that dry vegetation and windy conditions helped the fire to spread and maintain, despite continued efforts of firefighters and members of Coillte, the woodland management group.

As firefighters fought the blaze, members of Coillte worked on creating a fire-break in an effort to stop it spreading further.

It is now believed the fire has been extinguished, but Coillte will remain at the scene to monitor the situation.
