Man Killed In Roscommon Road Collision
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision at Ardkern, Roscommon.
A man (20) was seriously injured when the car he was travelling in as a passenger left the road and struck a ditch. He was taken to Sligo University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car and a second passenger, both male, aged 31 and 37 years, were also taken to Sligo University Hospital with non life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The scene was preserved to allow for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
The N4 remains open with a stop/go system in operation at Ardcarn close to the junction with the R285, Keadue Road.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact them at Castlerea Garda Station on 094 9621630, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.

Garda Injured In Cork
A garda has been injured while on duty in Cork on Monday night. The sergeant has been treated in hospital but has been discharged. He was bringing a patient, aged in his 20s, to the Mercy University Hospital just after 6pm. The garda is based at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

A man has been arrested after fleeing from the scene of a fatal accident on County Cork in the early hours of this morning. Two men in their 20s were killed in a head on collision of two vehicles at approximately 2.45am this morning on the N25 at Caherulton, Castlemartyr, County Cork.

Gardai in Letterkenny are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Co Donegal earlier today, 12 January. The collision occurred at approximately 6.55am on the Lifford to Letterkenny road at Drumoghill – approximately three to four miles outside Letterkenny – between a car and a tractor.
