Minister Called To 'Speed Up' Medical Card Process

Sinn Féin is calling on the Health Minister to speed up the process after it was confirmed that children with disabilities and sick children will received medical cards based on their needs.

TD for Louth and East Meath, Imelda Munster, said Minister Simon Harris cannot 'kick the issue down the road', as the Government have done with many other issues.

She said: "Does the Minister expect families with sick children to wait even longer than they already have, and to continue having to endure undergoing a rigorous application process and a household audit to prove their sick child is deserving of a medical card?

"There is no reason to allow this to be postponed for upwards of another year."
