Two Men Arrested Over Attempted Supermarket Robbery

Two men have been arrested by garda investigating a robbery at a supermarket in Ongar Village on Saturday, 13 March.

At approximately 8:30pm up to three men, in possession of firearms and knives, entered the shop threatening staff and demanding cash.

However, the raiders left the scene empty handed in a silver coloured car.

Gardaí, including local uniformed members, Community Police and District Detective Units attended the scene and carried out a search of the location. Two men, aged 37 and 40, were arrested close to the scene. They are currently being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Gardaí also recovered a car, a firearm and a knife.

Man Arrested In Connection With Stabbing Incident In Co Limerick
A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in Kilmallock, Co Limerick. It is understood that gardaí were called to reports of an incident at a bar on Wolfe Tone Street at about 8pm on Sunday night. Upon arriving at the scene, gardaí discovered three men had sustained stab wounds.

Witnesses Sought To Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a cash-in-transit robbery at La Touche Road, Bluebell, Dublin on Thursday afternoon. It is understood that at approximately 3:35pm, two men approached and threatened security staff as they were delivering cash to a Post Office. One of the robbers is believed to have been armed with a handgun.

Westmeath Pharmacy 'Ramraid' Probed
Two suspects are being held as gardaí in Mullingar investigate a burglary at a pharmacy involving a car being driven into the building. It happened in Oliver Plunkett Street in Mullingar at 2.15am this morning (Thursday) and saw officers later arresting two men aged 21 and 19.
